About wire subscribe to our monthly newsletter. Wire was founded in 2010 and has grown to over 150 annual members 200 women participating in events and chapters on two islands oahu and maui. Women in renewables association is a place for female professionals in the renewable energy field to join together network and share ideas. Two years ago the cec launched women in renewables to help promote its industry as a leader in gender diversity in the workplace.

Through building a united community of people who share a collective mission and vision we will support women to step up as empowered leaders within their organisations. This translates to an additional shs26 000 paid by a woman for instance to access. Ironically women were more likely to spend 7 more compared to men to access the same unit of renewable energy. By building community promoting education and cultivating leadership wrise advances women and inspires its members and the public to unite in raising their voices for others.

From a strong foundation in wind to a force across the renewable energy economy wrise has a broad purpose to change our energy future through the actions of women. The clean energy council s women in renewables initiative enables and champions women working in the renewable energy industry. Women are underrepresented in the energy industry work force in ministerial positions in the field of energy and are rarely considered as key stakeholders for energy initiatives.
